Lee Konitz

Here is an excerpt of an interview with Lee Konitz, Nov. 19, 2009, Lee talks about the influence of Lester “Pres” Young; speaking about the first time he heard Lester. Plus a glimpse of Lee’s ongoing study of Lester’s solos.

  1. I studied with Warne Marsh back in the early ’80s. He had me study Lester Young Solos. What a revelation that was. WHat a gift it was to have been able to study with Warne also.
